During May 2011 HG Dr. Kuriakose Mor Theophilose, resident Metropolitan for Europe (Excluding UK and Ireland) appointed Fr. Prince Paulose, who was doing his PhD in Rome, to investigate the presence of Jacobites from Kerala residing in The Netherlands.
As directed by respected Thirumeni, Fr. Prince Paulose found through his contacts in Kerala and Europe few people who were in The Netherlands during that time and requested them to come together to plan a Holy Mass.
Fr. Prince Paulose celebrated the first Jacobite Holy Mass in Malayalam in The Netherlands on 5th of June 2011 at ‘Moeder Gods Kerk (Mother of God Church), Amsterdam. Rabaan Saleeba Antonios, Vicar of the Church (Syrian Orthodox Church) supported to do the Holy Mass in the church with the permission of Mor Polycarpus Augin Aydin (Metropolitan and Patriarchal Vicar for the Archdiocese of the Netherlands of the Syriac Orthodox Church). Though Jacobite church members were only 7 families, members of all other Christian communities (St. Thomas Christians), joined for the celebration.
With the excellent support of Mor Theophilos and Mor Polycarpus and guidance of Rabaan Saleeba, church members were able to do the 2nd Holy Mass on 13th of November of 2011 again. This time, Rabaan Saleeba requested Fr. Price to do Holy Mass in Malayalam for the entire Jacobite Community (including Syrian members) at the church on Sunday morning (which usually is in Aramaic for Syrian members). In the afternoon we could also do a retreat in the Church. Mor Polycarpus gave his blessing speech to the members (Thirumeni travelled 200 Kilometer to Amsterdam from his place, Glane, only to give the blessing speech!) and there after Fr. Prince conducted the Retreat.
First visit of Mor Theophilos to The Netherlands to meet his disciples was during June 15 -17, 2012. HG celebrated Holy Mass on 17th of June 2012 in Moeder God’s Kerk (again on Sunday Morning, in Malayalam, together with Syrian people). With HG’s visit, the ‘family’ relation between the Syrian and Indian Jacobite Church members became deep and tight. Rabaan Saleeba is considering the small group of Kerala Jacobites as his own people, and church is offered free of charges, to celebrate Holy Mass in Malayalam any time. Syrian communities are also happy to assist for Altar service as number of people from Kerala is limited.
During October 2012 His Beatitude Baseliose Thomas I visited his people in The Netherlands, together with Mor Theophilos and Very Rev. Adai Jacob Cor-episcopa. Fr. Adai was requested by Rabaan Saleeba to celebrate a Holy Mass for the Children of Syrian parishioners.
His Beatitude celebrated Holy Mass in Amsterdam Church on 21st of October 2012, which was co-celebrated by Mor Theophilos and Mor Polycarpus Augin Aydin.
During his visit, HB had officially declared ‘St. Mary’s Jacobite Parish in Amsterdam’.
His Beatitude had also visited the Monastery in Glane, The Netherlands and celebrated Holy Mass on 28th of October 2021 on the Memorial Day of Mor Julius Yeshu Cicek. More than 1000 people of the Syrian community attended the Holy Mass there. He had also visited other Syrian Jacobite parishes during his visit.
After his PhD, Fr. Prince went back to India and Fr. Kuriakose Kollannur was appointed by Mor Theophilos to guide the parish. After him Fr. Eldhose Vattaparampil appointed as the vicar of the parish.
Though the parish is few in numbers of people, community had the pleasure of receiving HG Mathews Mor Aprem, HG Markose Mor Chrysostomos, HG Zacharias Mor Philoxenos, HG Mathews Mor Thimothios.
Mor Philoxenos guided a 3day retreat in October 2018 and Mor Thimothios lead the Holy week of 2019 in Amsterdam.
As the number of parish members are only a few, Jacobite Syrian Holy Mass in Malayalam is celebrated only a couple of times in a year in this Parish.
